Summary
The main purpose of this position is to support the Credit Risk Management department of the bank in analyzing existing loans and leases for accurate risk ratings and emerging risk, while adhering to underwriting criteria, standards and the Bank’s Loan Policy.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough annual and quarterly reviews of current Commercial and Equipment Finance portfolio clients, including review of financials, site visits, and assessment of general business information and other factors that would be indicators of risk. * Make recommendations for risk rating revisions. * Assist in maintaining portfolio monitoring tracking functions within the Commercial and Equipment Finance portfolio, including annual and quarterly reviews, covenant compliance, and financial statement tracking. * Assist in managing Application Only and Reduced Credit Administration portfolios. Report deteriorating credit situations in a timely manner. * Review and recommend action in regards to loan/lease modifications, including review of financial statements, documentation, and credit bureau reports. * Prepare and present performance and profitability analysis of existing loan/lease programs. * Present annual reviews of significant exposures to Management Loan Committee. * Generate and update reports related to certain Watch List assets, including recent financial performance, updated projections, anticipation of recovery, and balance/payment updates. * Maintain the overall credit quality of the lease/loan portfolio by proactively identifying the impact of current economic and market trends on the portfolio; take appropriate action to mitigate and control risks. * Perform financial statement analysis to assist other Credit Risk Management Departments as needed. * Assist Workout Department with developing strategies to bring accounts back to performing status. * Compile data used in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports distributed to Loan Committee and the Board of Directors. * Assist with developing templates used by Portfolio Management, Workout and Underwriting Departments. * Partner with Wholesale Partners and Relationship Managers to establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers. * Establish and maintain effective working partnerships with internal bank departments, including Finance, Loan Administration, Loan Servicing, and the Lines of Business. Assist in maintaining working relationships with third party providers. * Perform other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:** * Knowledge of loan risk ratings, regulatory guidance, and ability to interpret impact to business needs. * Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial statements. * Detail oriented with the ability to analyze cash flow, leverage, and other financial metrics. * Understanding of commercial and equipment finance lending, credit evaluation, underwriting and credit risk administration. * Must be able to concisely and clearly express opinions, observations and recommendations in a confident manner. * Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact effectively at all levels of management and peers * Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and build trust with key constituents. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, peers, or management. * Strong time management and organizational skills. * Exhibit adaptability in a team oriented environment. * Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, internet, database software, and presentation tools. * Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude. **Physical Activites & Requirements, Visual Acuity, Working Conditions And Noise Level:** * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. * The physical requirements of this position are considered to be sedentary work (Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.). * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less in order to view a computer screen). * The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate (business office with co-workers, copiers, shredders, printers, etc.). **Minimum Education & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * 4+ years of experience working in commercial credit underwriting or portfolio management that includes financial statement analysis required. * 2+ years of experience working in a credit risk management function required * Solid understanding of banking principles required. **Contacts With Others:** * Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters as well as regular contact with other departments, or outside the organization furnishing or obtaining factual data requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. May need to regularly utilize specialized communication skills in order to maintain goodwill with internal and external contacts.
