Summary
Oversee all aspects of the Human Resources function at the Elizabethtown, KY plant.
Responsibilities
* Manage industrial relations activities including work rules, safety programs, attendance, and discipline. Promote a participative environment and pro-active union avoidance. Seek ways to expand communications and associate involvement. Manage salaried employee relations’ issues. * Participate as a member of the Elizabethtown Department Leads to establish operating goals and implementation plans. * Recruit and/or coordinate recruiting for all hourly and salaried positions. Maintain division policies for selecting quality candidates capable of growth within the division and corporation. * Provide orientation to new associates, both hourly and salaried. Implement training and development to support individual and business goals, such as quality, safety, productivity, and customer service. * Administer performance appraisal system and execute organizational development systems in coordination with divisional staff. Administer fringe and benefit programs for hourly and salaried associates. * Administer corporate and divisional policies and procedures and meet statutory requirements. Develop and maintain ISO procedures for HR as required. Keep appropriate files and records, including payroll and attendance. * Coordinate the plant’s safety, Workers Comp, and loss control activities.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area required; graduate level degree is a plus. * PC application literacy required. * 5-7 years professional experience, 3 or more years managing a complete HR function in a manufacturing environment reporting to the plant manager. * Hands-on experience in fostering a non-union and participative workplace. * Significant involvement in recruiting and selecting a quality hourly and salaried workforce. * Experience managing and executing a formal training and development program. * Experience in developing and implementing health, safety, and workers compensation programs. * Work experience outside the HR function is a strong positive.
