Summary
The Human Resources Intern is responsible for the administrative support within the Human Resources department.
Responsibilities
* Assists with the day to day administration of the HR department. * Generate Personnel Action Forms (PAF) and follow up with approvers to ensure timely completion of PAF. * Maintain information in WISE (resource request) system and follow up with the appropriate fulfiller to ensure timely deployment or revocation of resources. * Prepare and distribute new hire packages as needed. * Prepare termination package as needed. * Process employment eligibility using eVerify and follow up to close. * Process requisition requests. * Maintain Personnel records. * Assist employees and managers with Time & Attendance system and ensure timely approvals by managers. * Interpret HR policies as needed. * Conduct New Hire orientation. * Assist with wellness activities for Northridge campus. * Provides HR support as required and directed by Senior HR team.
Ideal Candidate
* Must be currently enrolled and In the process of completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (emphasis in HR a plus). * Up to 2 years of Human Resources experience in a busy office environment. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management and associates, including HR colleagues, Sr. Executives and Business leaders. **Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:** **Results-Driven: Having a proactive, goal oriented approach to decision making.** * Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. **Team Player: Having respect for colleagues; leading teams with clarity and accountability.** * Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels within a global matrixed organization. * Builds strong relationships and has excellent interpersonal skills. **Change Orientation: Able to adapt to changing demands and conditions.** * Ability to adapt to and embrace new technology and tools. **Customer Focus: Providing exceptional service and quality to external and internal customer.** * Takes a consultative approach to working with internal clients. * Offers the highest level of benefits service to all levels within the organization. **Self-Awareness: Accepting responsibility for personal development and actions.** * Highly self aware and able to adapt personal style depending on task and situation. * Have clear objectives and strives to exceed them. * Takes ownership for personal career and skill development. **Eligibility Requirements:** * Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA * Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test * HARMAN will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
