Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a fast-paced, competitive role which is responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities for the field sales teams to pursue. The SDR drives demand for Gordian's products and solutions in healthcare, higher education and with state and local government entities working closely with our Outside Field Sales and Marketing teams. They create and develop relationships by managing and qualifying inbound leads, use social media tools to monitor target accounts, and prospect within specific disciplines and geographic areas with the goal of setting appointments for the appropriate outside sales team.
Responsibilities
* Qualify prospects against established criteria prior to passing them on to Outside Sales Representatives as sales qualified leads (SQLs) * Generate new leads for the sales organization to pursue * Receive pre-determined groups of prospects back from the Outside Field Sales team or the Marketing team for further nurturing using both the telephone and email * Process inbound leads, both telephone and web/chat-based * Comply with all lead-management-related service-level agreements * Provide accurate weekly forecasts to the sales and marketing teams on the volume of leads expected to achieve SQL status * Track and manage prospecting, qualification and nurture activities within salesforce.com * Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge of company solutions
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree desired * Minimum of 2 years of prospecting experience in the B2G or B2B environment * Able to use existing and emerging social media tools to monitor targeted accounts and prospects and identify trigger events for follow-up * Discipline to maintain high call volumes (minimum 40 outbound calls per day) * Strong attention to detail, making and keeping commitments and meeting deadlines * Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain issues and solutions * Active listening to assess prospect needs and opportunities * Ability to articulate a reasonable premise for each and every call * Able to perform prospect and account research to prepare for calls * Healthcare, higher education or state and local government related knowledge * Public procurement and/or the construction project lifecycle knowledge is preferred
