Summary
Under general supervision, the Payroll Tax Specialist gathers, evaluates, and analyzes a wide variety of data and information related to GameStop Payroll Tax. This position also provides functional and technical support in the development and delivery of Payroll Tax measurements, benchmarking and statistical reporting. Principal outcomes include providing targeted business intelligence to support strategic decision-making. An associate in this position may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities will require a supervisor’s advanced approval.
Responsibilities
* Develop and generate reports to meet management requests and business needs for payroll-related information * Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into details and summarize detailed information to facilitate understanding * Utilize internal systems to run queries and format reports on a periodic basis * Perform routine to complex data audits and validation to identify data discrepancies * Responsible for the identification and registration of new jurisdictions * Create and file quarterly tax filings * Generate ad hoc reports for internal and external customers including government entities * Maintain the confidentiality and security of data accessed during the course of daily activities * Provide analytical support and guidance for compliance initiatives and Legal requests * Perform other related duties and helps with special projects * Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace * Demonstrate a consistent commitment to field-focused service by prioritizing field-based requests, responding quickly and favorably to field-based feedback, by minimizing tasks, and proactively seeking ways to help store teams focus on customer service as productively as possible * Work collaboratively with others within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simply processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time * Responsible for adhering consistently with all employment policies as stated in the employee handbook provided or as provided by his or her supervisor * Model the high level of customer service expected of all GameStop associates including, but not limited to, responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others’ feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriate * Model team commitment by adhering to the team's expectations and guidelines; fulfilling team responsibilities; and demonstrating personal commitment to the team by being cooperative, collaborative, and flexible

* Contributing to Team Success – Actively participating as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals * Building Organizational Talent – Establishing systems and processes to attract, develop, engage and retain talented individuals; creating a work environment where people can realize their full potential, thus allowing the organization to meet current and future business challenges * Information Monitoring – Setting up ongoing procedures to collect and review information needed to manage an organization or ongoing activities within it * Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills – Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical and professional skills or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise **BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)** * Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management or related field from an accredited program required; at least one year of additional related experience may be considered in substitution * 4 or more years’ experience in a Human Resource or Payroll function required **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES** * Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English * Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Word * Working knowledge of HR Management software such as Ultipro, PeopleSoft or similar system * Ability to work collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization * Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others * Demonstrated capacity for gathering/scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions * Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities * Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
