Summary
Attention Senior Project Managers. If you have worked in a PMO environment, and managed COTS projects, then we have an opportunity for you. Our Dunwoody based client is currently seeking a PM to work on a variety of projects, but mainly deal with software application initiatives. You must have commercial off the shelf software (COTS) experience to be considered.
Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of a project's life cycle from project planning, through development and deployment with an emphasis on BI-related initiatives. As part of a PMO, this role will be successful by communicating and clarifying business needs and priorities, leading an initiative across stakeholder organizations, and be the liaison between IT and business departments. * Manage an initiative through all aspects of a software development lifecycle, such as project planning, analysis, development, change control, and deployment. * Follow PMO methodology, including: * Schedule management: Hold IT and Business teams for dates/milestones * Risk management: Facilitate, document and pro-actively manage the risks over the duration of the project. * Scope management: Work with project team, customers, and management to prioritize requirements and develop and maintain detailed project plans using standard tools. This includes project charter and scope, phases, tasks, assignments, dependencies, and target dates. Determine resource roles needed and work with management to secure project team members. * Change management: Review metrics as necessary and manage actual effort against estimates in the plan to keep the project on schedule and within budget and scope. Perform analyses for changes to scope and negotiate/recommend course of action or escalate as appropriate. * Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders to prioritize projects, plan resources, define the business value, and project charter for proposed projects * Budget management: Assist in project financial reporting including budgetary, forecasting and variance analysis. * Use effective meeting management skills to initiate, develop agenda, facilitate, and provide output so that all appropriate parties are kept up-to-date regarding project status and issues. Ensure that project team members communicate status and issues as appropriate. * Manage and partner with various vendors (this will vary based on scope for the project and who is the 3rd party provider. * Assist management with special assignments, such as evaluating vendors, gathering/evaluating consultant proposals, or other responsibilities as requested. Provide input on personnel management issues as appropriate. * Assist in process improvement of Project Processes. * Communicate with Senior Leadership members on a regular basis. * Consistently communicate progress and status for all projects * Collaborate with multiple business leaders especially PSLP and BI
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** * Minimum 5 years project leadership experience as a Project Manager. * BS in Computer Science, business, or equivalent education/training/experience * Background in Healthcare Industry, especially healthcare clinical data and claims data * Background in managing Business Intelligence initiatives * Project management training/certification, such as PMP **Skills:** * Demonstrated understanding and experience in software development life cycle methodologies, including Agile/Scrum * Knowledge of various BI platforms (Tableau, Microsoft, Micro Strategy, Business Objects) * Knowledge of Healthcare Data (HL7, X12, Dicom and Snowmed * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point * Proficient project management skills (develop project charter and scope, develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, track progress, etc.) * Strong relationship management and negotiation skills * Detail-oriented * Can work in a fast paced environment * Meeting facilitation and presentation skills * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills * Experience managing software vendors of COTS systems
