Summary
Etsy is seeking a human resources generalist to partner with our senior business leaders. As the ideal candidate for this position, you have deep functional expertise across a variety of HR competencies as well as an appreciation for what your business partners need to accomplish their own objectives. You take a true partnership approach to your work, consistently bridging your partner organization’s needs with that of the broader company. You have significant hands-on experience with core personnel processes, career development, performance management, employee relations issues, learning and development, and broader organizational issues. You are able to provide objective advice regarding complex issues. Your business partners can count on you.
Responsibilities
* Partner with senior business leaders to deliver core HR services * Act as a trusted advisor; be someone our leaders can count on * Assist with the evolution of Etsy’s organizational infrastructure including core personnel processes, career tracking, compensation, and performance review process * Facilitate Etsy’s performance management and compensation process * Identify, manage and escalate employee relations issues quickly and decisively; exercise high judgment and discretion. Manage conflict. * Bridge the gap between your partner organization’s needs and those of the broader company; gather and synthesize needs; exercise influence * Work closely with the L&D function to ensure that the needs of your partner organization are being met * Work closely with recruiting to ensure that we deliver a seamless onboarding experience and candidate experience * Track and report HR KPIs for partner organization * Coach managers on best practices including employee career development and leveling, performance management and compensation
Ideal Candidate
* Have 3 - 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in the HR function working with leaders at all levels * Have 3+ years of experience working in a consumer-facing business with a strong engineering focus * Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail * Knowledge of basic employment law (ie: FMLA and ADA) * Able to negotiate sensitive situations with confidence and finesse * Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred * SPHR certification preferred
