Summary
DEG is growing quickly and is seeking an HR Coordinator to help shape the employment experience of our highly valued team of digital marketing professionals. In this role, you will have a chance to influence our staff’s relationship with DEG through shaping and supporting numerous programs like new hire onboarding, performance management and compensation planning. Successful candidates must have strong communication and organizational skills in addition to being detail-oriented. While individual initiative and the ability to work independently are important, much of the day to day duties of the HR Coordinator require directly interacting with staff members, particularly members of the Culture team. This individual will also assist the Director of Corporate Culture and Administration by running a variety of HR activities like full lifecycle benefits administration, maintaining associate records and responding to staff questions.
Responsibilities
* Lead benefits administration for 220+ staff members (including education, eligibility, initial enrollment, mid-year changes, yearly open enrollment and terminations) * Orchestrate associate onboarding including current duties (i.e. scheduling, preparing first day materials, answering questions and conducting tours) and expanding the program to be more comprehensive * Refine and run our internship program * Manage our HRIS (ADP’s Workforce Now) for updates related to the employee lifecycle (hires, departures, promotions, transfers and PTO changes) * Respond to associate questions (via email, IM, phone or in person) in a timely and professional manner * Assist with ensuring the company is compliant with existing employment laws and regulations in multiple states * Conduct background checks, employment verifications and complete I-9s * Maintain employee files consistently and with proper security and confidentiality * Act as back-up for the administrative assistant to provide front desk and main phone line relief duties * Likely contribute to the development and improvement of other HR programs including (but not limited to) performance reviews, compensation planning, updating polices and establishing DEG’s new wellness program.
Ideal Candidate
* 4-year degree in a Human Resources related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience * Strong written communication skills for direct to staff correspondence, all staff announcements, and other company materials * Excellent verbal communication skills to accurately and efficiently explain benefits and polices to DEG associates * Experience with an HRIS * Up-to-date knowledge of current employment laws and best practices * Exhibits discretion and maintains confidentiality * Quick problem solver and adaptable * Able to manage multiple priorities and exhibit consistent follow up * Proven track record in meeting deadlines * Able to work both independently and with a diverse group of people * High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
