Summary
Serves Coffey clients in a strategic and consultative manner by helping maximize the clients' investment in Coffey. Advises clients on how to leverage Coffey's products and services to meet strategic marketing objectives. Provides effective marketing, public relations and editorial counsel to help clients realize marketing goals and maximize return on investment. Is charged with developing win-win outcomes for the client and Coffey, taking into consideration time and budget constraints of the client and Coffey's bottom line. Is continuously focused on heightening client satisfaction and retaining business for Coffey. Documents client feedback and shares it with other team members. Ensures that internal production team understands client goals and is proactive in creating publications and other materials that meet and exceed those goals. Conducts issue and annual planning sessions, annual account reviews and leads post-production follow-up with clients to assess level of satisfaction and help measure ROI.
Responsibilities
- Concentrates on building strong, personalized relationships with an assigned group of clients through regular phone and email contact and on-site visits. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of each client account, including their marketing strategy and goals, the competitive market, Coffey agreement terms and invoices, and level of satisfaction with Coffey. Proactively works to connect with each client’s senior executives. - Serves as a resource and conduit to clients for all things Coffey; maintains a keen awareness of all Coffey products and services; understands the role of key departments and personnel. - Leads the onboarding process for new clients; takes the lead in presentations to clients, including prototype and redesign presentations, in conjunction with the Design Manager and Art Director. - Provides effective planning consultation annually and prior to each issue; reviews client material at copy-in stage to ensure that it reflects goals of planning session; communicates with client about any discrepancies and leads internal project kick-off meetings. - Works with Digital Services personnel to integrate clients' print and online products and ensure that they work in concert to support marketing strategies and goals. - Acquaints production personnel with client needs and goals and serves as a creative and strategic resource during the production process. - Shares best practices with clients regarding direct mail marketing, editorial strategy, and tracking and measuring ROI. Sends Google Analytics reports if the client is also a Digital Services client. - Conducts annual account reviews and leads post-production follow-up with client to assess level of client satisfaction and evaluate effectiveness of Coffey publication products and/or creative services in meeting short- and long-term strategic goals. - Works with client to capture meaningful data for measuring ROI. - Proactively informs clients about Coffey products and services and demonstrates their potential value and usefulness. - Takes initiative in resolving client crises quickly and in a manner that is satisfactory to the client and to Coffey. - Leads client planning and strategy workshops in-house or at the client's facility. - Takes a proactive approach to help clients fulfill contractual obligations and control costs. Provides assistance to help clients stay within budget parameters. Handles contract renewal process with clients. - Provides regular reports to management regarding the successes of efforts to meet clients' needs and enhance the effectiveness of their communications efforts. - Shares observations on areas of concern and opportunities to improve client relations. Logs relevant information about client relationships in Coffey database. - Ensures that time spent on client accounts is commensurate with client's investment in Coffey. - Assists sales in communicating with potential clients. - Develops and maintains a keen understanding of marketing and public relations trends, especially as they pertain to the health care industry. - Regularly reviews industry trade journals, books and websites. Attends appropriate industry seminars and conferences. - Serves as an internal mentor by sharing expertise in promotions, marketing and editorial management; strives to bring all production staff to a better understanding of publication planning and health care marketing strategy. - Uses the Coffey timekeeping system to keep an accurate record of time spent on various job activities and individual client accounts. **Other responsibilities** - Handles special projects and assignments as requested by the Director of Client Experience and/or senior management. - Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of senior management, formally or informally, either orally or in writing.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations or related field required. - Minimum 5 years of marketing, content development or client account management experience required. - Strong customer service orientation and an interest in building open, trusting client relationships; the ability to consult, coach and influence clients. - Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies and editorial/publication strategy preferred. - Experience working directly in or with healthcare institutions is a plus. - Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and positively with clients and staff members while being firm and decisive about meeting policies, procedures, deadlines and goals. - Demonstrated ability to analyze marketing strategy and data, conceptualize solutions, and work with clients to meet marketing objectives. - Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. - Ability to lead and pursue projects independently while exercising good judgment and exhibiting a considerable degree of creativity. - Ability to keep confidences when working with clients and Coffey team members. - Ability to travel.
