Summary
Be an active participant in the business of education. Spend time on college campuses. Don’t worry, not as a student this time, but as someone that can have an impact in what those students are learning and how they are learning! Meet with instructors, deans, students, and others to present products and service solutions.
Responsibilities
* Create high impact relationships with prospective customers face to face * Manage other resources while prioritizing account activities across a defined territory in addition to managing travel and expense budgets * Successfully manage a territory independently with your strategic planning skills and strong time management * Provide customers with sales quotes, proposals, and demonstrations of our products * Commit to regular self-paced learning and professional development * Maintain strong relationships with established customers * Use a contact management system to plan and complete your sales activities * Collaborate and choreograph activities with others in an open team environment to expand account activities and relationships * Convey a passion for products that encourage learning
Ideal Candidate
* A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university * The drive to succeed * A strong desire to compete and advance your professional development * Experience developing effective sustainable relationships across accounts with a diverse group of customers and influencers at all levels * Demonstrated ability to navigate independently in a territory, managing sales of varying complexity in a changing selling environment * Exceptional organizational and time management skills * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with support teams from across Cengage Learning, and others to develop, create and close opportunities within the assigned territory. * Previous experience creating and delivering effective presentations. * Technology aptitude and ability to converse with customers about how technology is impacting their business. * Aptitude for operating in a changing environment that requires innovative approaches and customized solutions to meet customer needs and challenges. * 2 years of successful sales or customer interaction experience * Direct Sales, Marketing, or Editorial experience * Experience working with digital sales products/applications
