Summary
GCR is seeking an experienced professional to develop and manage relationships with US institutional investment consultants. This includes marketing the best of BlackRock’s investment capabilities to manager research and field consultants within the assigned firms, working with client account managers to develop new business and service shared clients, and developing relationships with key decision-makers within each firm. The successful candidate will be assigned a coverage universe and manage a team of people to develop optimal relationships between consulting firms and BlackRock. The Relationship Manager will collaborate with BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), client account teams, consultant support teams, and senior management to drive and protect business.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute business plans for each assigned firm, focusing on consulting firm needs, ICB priority products and shared client opportunities. * Manage a team focused on the assigned coverage universe * Exhibit deep knowledge of BlackRock’s investment capabilities, the market and the needs of assigned consulting firms and their clients. * Maintain regular dialogue on BlackRock’s investment capabilities with assigned firms * Serve as resource to consultants on markets, product development and trends * Develop deep partnerships with field consultants characterized by access and influence * Partner with PMG to develop/execute product specific marketing plans to consulting firms * Partner with Client Account Managers to drive new business/protect existing business * Oversee responses to incoming queries and opportunities * Track activities and maintain contact information in contact management system * Oversee meeting coordination and material preparation * Contribute to career development of other GCR team members
Ideal Candidate
* Strong understanding of institutional investment marketplace * 10+ years of experience working with institutional clients and/or consultants * BA/BS degree in related field – MBA/CFA highly desirable * Sales and revenue orientation and motivation * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated analytical ability * Organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize * Has, or is willing to obtain, the series 7, 63, and 3 licenses * Effective team player; able to work with people of all levels * High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics
