Responsibilities
C-III IM is seeking an acquisitions analyst for its Principal Investments area, which is actively investing in distressed commercial real estate opportunities across the US through its Recovery Fund vehicles. The position will be based in New York. The analyst will be in working in the acquisitions group and will be exposed to a diverse range of real estate investment opportunities. Responsibilities include screening potential investments relative to investment criteria; extensive financial modeling and analysis utilizing both Excel and Argus; preparation and analysis of macro and micro economic and market data; and the creation of detailed investment committee books. The analyst will be expected to assist with all aspects of the due diligence processes for the acquisition of real estate assets and loans, and there may be extensive domestic travel. Candidates should possess strong quantitative skills, a high degree of motivation, the ability to multi-task and good interpersonal skills. In addition candidates should have prior real estate experience, preferably in private equity, direct investing, investment banking or investment management. Experience in a broad array of real estate sectors and geographies is preferred. **Requirements** * Preparing sophisticated cash flow models for underwriting and reporting on the viability of potential investment opportunities; * Preparing detailed investment memoranda presentations; * Supporting all analytical and transactional aspects of real estate and loan acquisitions, including market research, due diligence, financing, structuring, negotiating and closing; * Participate in all aspects of deal closings including negotiating documents, managing deliverables, etc.
Ideal Candidate
* BS/BA required; * At least 1-3 years of applicable experience in investment banking, real estate and/or or private equity; * Understanding of real estate finance / structuring; * Significant experience with complex financial modeling / strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Argus required; and * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
