Summary
Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s NJ Capital Group is seeking a financial analyst/ researcher to be a member of the loan/ investment sales team. The successful candidate will work directly with senior professionals to assist in underwriting mortgage loans and commercial investment properties as well as analyzing market and submarket trends.
Responsibilities
* Financial modeling and underwriting prospective assignments (individual loans or portfolio of loans as well as investment properties) * Assisting with due diligence required for the underwriting and marketing (review and abstracting of leases, appraisals, property condition reports, environmental reports, income and expense statements, rent rolls, mortgage, note, modifications, forbearance agreements, foreclosure filings, title searches, etc.) * Developing offering and presentation packages * Research for comparable sold and for sale listings, submarket statistics such as competitive inventory, availability, lease rates, etc. * Assisting with public records research for potential assignment opportunities
Ideal Candidate
Successful applicants should be highly motivated and highly analytical with a passion for commercial real estate, loan and investment sales, and finance. Applicants should possess the following qualifications: * Undergraduate degree or MBA in Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics * 3+ year of real estate, private equity, or investment banking experience with an emphasis in financial modeling * High-level understanding of Argus and Excel * High-level understating of financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, Cash on Cash * Basic knowledge of PowerPoint * Strong writing skills * Demonstrated research ability. * Knowledge of CoStar, Loopnet, Real Estate Capital Analytics and other real estate data sources is a plus. * Knowledge of loan documents and terminology is a plus. **Physical Requirements** * Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer (67-100%) * Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers (67-100%) * Standing / Walking (12-33%) * Climbing / Stooping / Kneeling (0-12%) * Lifting / Pulling / Pushing (0-12%) * Fingering / Grasping / Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use phone system (67-100%)
