Asset Manager

Perform asset management functions in support of the Alternative Investments Group’s structured/subordinate debt portfolio through exceptional communications skills, real estate financial analysis and valuation, understanding of property operations, leasing and financial reporting. Other areas of responsibility include supporting loan closings, underlying leverage closings and compliance monitoring, monthly and quarterly monitoring and reporting of property performance. Primary liaison with Portfolio Management and Capital Markets. * Provide ongoing analysis and market research, including updates to financial models for quarterly/annual fair valuations and the periodic reforecasting of asset performance and capital needs in connection with future funding obligations. Work with Portfolio Management, Research, and Client Services to update investment performance and investment commentary used in quarterly and annual investor reports and in Cornerstone track record/performance reporting. * Perform valuation activities for the portfolio. * Work with Portfolio Management, Capital Markets and Client Services in monitoring leverage loan/facility covenant compliance, preparing quarterly reporting and compliance certifications and satisfying other reporting requirements by periodically providing updated loan and property information. * Monitor property performance through financial reporting and market research. * Work with loan producers, borrowers, insurance, portfolio management, and legal to verify that all underwriting and closing requirements are met for each loan originated. Assist in post-closing administrative requirements, as well as assist in collecting other items needed for closing. * Generate and present internal investment summaries, memorandum and reports for all loans in the portfolio. Provide solutions to eliminate overlap/inefficiencies in reporting to various internal/external partners, including portfolio management, leverage lenders, and management. * Travel to properties for the purposes of annual (or as needed) property inspections. Manage the ordering of third party vendor property inspections and appraisals, as needed. * Assess specific property targets/goals related to leasing, construction, and economics. Provide recommendations for substandard performance. * Support Client related presentations and pitches. * Responsible for other activities as directed by the Head of Alternative Investments.

**Knowledge Requirements** * 2 - 4 years’ experience as an Asset Manager required. * Minimum 5 years of relevant commercial real estate industry experience. * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a finance or real estate emphasis. * Knowledge of financial modeling and analysis programs (ARGUS, Excel, etc.). **Competencies** * Ability to interact with members of senior management, executives and other staff members in a positive manner * Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proven presentation skills * Sophisticated financial skills * Exceptional quantitative underwriting skills * Ability to influence others and win support on critical issues * Must have strong client-service focus * Must possess a high standard of professionalism and integrity * Ability to prioritize and meet tight timelines * Ability to make key recommendations and decisions * Highly organized and able to multi-task in an environment of change * Attention to detail and accuracy * Willingness and ability to travel overnight
