Summary
The Content Director we are seeking will create and lead content strategy across multiple platforms and formats to drive growth, engagement, retention and support for enterprise-wide and marketing goals as well as build on Bluebeam’s identity as a unique industry resource committed to inspiring our community and helping our customers get the job done. We’ve spent the last year plus building new teams and platforms to provide compelling content, and now we’re looking for someone who can lead our amazingly talented Content team. Your time will be spent driving content strategy, creating initiatives that integrate product content with editorial content, and inspiring original branding and thought leadership content while managing the Content team to produce material that capitalizes on our unique industry position and access. You will consume as much intel as humanly possible (from other Marketing teams, our customer-facing teams, third-party publishers, the web, etc.), oversee global editorial newsletter coordination, support special partner activations, create campaign-specific messaging, and help the Marketing team on larger projects and initiatives. You should be well versed in all things content—curation, creation, distribution and amplification—brand consistency, storytelling, audience engagement and analytics, in addition to being committed to the meaningful management of team talent. We’re looking for a combination content junkie/numbers geek/investor in people who can leverage and grow our brand identity and culture to build and align content experiences.
Responsibilities
* Understand Bluebeam’s unique brand identity and positioning within the AEC industry while keeping a focus on global market awareness and growth to inform strategy and adapt to changing goals/initiatives. * Work closely with all teams, including Product Marketing, PR, Media, International, Channel, Experiential and customer-facing teams to develop a dynamic content strategy and calendar that supports and extends initiatives to both drive leads and grow mindshare and community engagement. * Lead the creation, curation, distribution and amplification of all product- and industry-related content. * Write and manage a team of writers and an editor who produce content, including exclusive short- and long-form editorial articles, case studies, white papers, video content, etc. created for our own original content platforms, product/workflow/industry content needs and external publishing channels. * Act as the lead product copywriter. * Contribute to the development of multi-media content, including video story development. * Partner with the Analytics team to collect, monitor, analyze and routinely report data from all content channels to internal stakeholders. * Ensure all content meets Bluebeam and Marketing strategic goals and is optimized for all distribution channels. * Work with all Marketing teams to experiment with new ideas, develop unique approaches to content channels, clarify strategic goals, and encourage team participation in curating content. * Create processes for internal market-facing team members to feed content needs and opportunities into the content pipeline for evaluation. * Socialize and market content internally as well as identify external distribution channels and influencers to amplify content. * Draft messaging around partner campaigns, help develop campaign content calendars, and manage distribution of content throughout each campaign.
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years of relevant work experience in strategizing, creating, curating, writing and building high- quality content suites, ideally in an in-house or agency environment. * 5–7 years managing a team. * 5+ years in product specific copywriting. * Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented. * Must be a self-starter who is ready, willing and able to own and prioritize multiple tasks with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and communicating well in a team environment. * Must be comfortable working with tight schedules and unexpected challenges. * Must have outstanding written communication skills, a strong understanding of grammar, and the ability to adapt style and voice for various articles. * Must be creative and assertive, and a competent researcher who is comfortable asking questions and seeking answers. * Must demonstrate experience in proving the valuable role that content plays in the marketing mix with a clear understanding of lead generation, ROI, and metrics expectation and results. * Must be comfortable giving and receiving feedback, and have a desire to continually improve. * Must be proficient with WordPress and Microsoft Office applications. * Experience writing in the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry or technology space is a plus. * Experience using PDF software for electronic markup and editing is a plus. * Must be extremely comfortable learning new technology. After all, we are a software company. * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (English, Journalism, Communications, etc.)
