Summary
We have a unique opportunity for a Director to lead our Media strategy, planning and buying capability at Squarespace. The team is already known for pioneering work across digital, audio and video, combining the highest impact brand efforts with surgical deployment of performance tactics. This role reports into the Chief Marketing Officer in New York. You are an accomplished Media professional with expertise in all aspects of the modern media landscape, but your core drive is to shape the ideal marketing architecture that evolves with our business and leaves no question about its impact. You wish to lead the team that will apply paid media strategies and cutting-edge advertising technology to grow Squarespace’s influence among designers, artists, businesses and people hoping to enhance their digital identities. Armed with a deep understanding of the full marketing funnel from brand awareness to conversion, you will help expand our marketing presence internationally. You understand media math and measurement, attribution, and optimization. Where others see media fragmentation and eroding ad value, you see an opportunity to build business for Squarespace in data-driven, real-time marketing and storytelling.
Responsibilities
* Prioritize and plan omnichannel media in pursuit of business targets by vertical and product * Partner with Director of Brand Marketing to ensure coordination of media with creative efforts and content marketing, and to maximize the impact of all marketing programs * Initiate, structure, and engage high impact strategic partnerships (both internal and external) * Identify and evaluate new opportunities and emerging channels * Build and develop the Media team * Be a thought partner to the CMO on brand positioning and customer definitions and segmentation.
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years of relevant work experience in strategic management of full funnel media channels (digital, OOH, print, TV, radio, and emerging) * Proven success developing a high performing team * Relentless drive to review and improve processes, best practices, organizational structures and personnel for optimal results * Demonstrated ability to develop and integrate intellectual capital, POV, and recommendations that capitalize on media trends to fulfill company vision and strategy * Familiarity with / curiosity about emerging channels and technology * TV planning experience a significant plus * Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, balancing independent thought with collaboration
