Summary
The ideal candidate has brand / product-management experience with an emphasis on inbound and outbound licensing, excellent organizational and time-management skills, and a strong sense of commitment to and personal ownership of the responsibilities assigned to them. This position will report to the vice president (VP) of global consumer products.
Responsibilities
* Strategy * Implement short and long term strategy for assigned categories. * Identify and prospect growth opportunities in assigned categories by assessing the competitive landscape and identifying product trends. * Contribute to global strategy including, creating comprehensive strategy materials, executive summaries, and presentations. * Product Management * Develops product plan for respective product categories across licensing and directly manufactured products for all Blizzard franchises. * Serve as the primary liaison and manager of day-to-day relationships between Blizzard and potential and existing licensees for assigned categories. * Manage licensees to ensure consistent and cohesive marketing, merchandising, and product execution. * Contribute alongside internal teams to ensure quality, brand consistency, and product execution for defined distribution windows. * Business / Legal / Finance * Drive business and evaluate financial results. * Negotiate and review business terms and contracts. * Identify and analyze differences in forecast vs. actual revenue and product margin. * Review and approve quarterly statements and monitor payment compliance. * Marketing * Oversee go-to-market planning. * Collaborate with licensees to activate retail events, promotions, and aggregate product corners. * Management * Communicate with satellite Blizzard offices to ensure global representation and support for local merchandise needs. * Manage and mentor Licensing Specialist / Coordinator. * Other * Provide support for event and trade show planning, market studies, and analysis. * Communicate status updates with VP on a weekly basis. * Assist VP with special events / projects.
Ideal Candidate
**REQUIREMENTS** * A minimum of 8 years’ brand / product management experience * Prior management experience * Able to work and thrive in a globally oriented environment * Able to work well in a team environment with various internal organizations (such as product development, creative development, marketing, legal, accounting, and international Blizzard game teams) * Able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently * Strong communication and presentation skills * Strong organizational and analytical skills * Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field **PLUSES** * Experience in the game industry * International business experience
