Summary
This position will be required to analyze and administer broad based compensation programs, policies and procedures, and perform and communicate detailed and thorough analysis of the compensation plans to ensure alignment with strategic financial objectives and desired business results.
Responsibilities
* Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions. * Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Build and maintain effective relationships with internal business partners and external clients. * Provides advice & consultation to HR Business Partners and management for assigned client group(s) on more complex compensation programs and pay-related issues to ensure all parties have a full understanding of the organization's compensation strategies & pay philosophy. * Maintains current knowledge of compensation developments and trends, assess the impact, and ensures that new trends/developments are appropriately incorporated into compensation initiatives. * Conducts more complex analyses to assess internal equity and external market competitiveness of compensation plans to attract and retain key talent. Recommends program design enhancements where necessary. * Crafts, implements and executes compensation communication plans for area(s) of responsibilities. Conducts training for assigned client group(s) on compensation programs as needed. * Partners with assigned client group(s) to develop job descriptions that reflect the role’s core responsibilities and are aligned to the Career Framework. Acts as administrator for Lincoln’s job description system. * Supports and enhances departmental organizational capability by sharing compensation expertise with key stakeholders of the enterprise and the lines of business. * Participates in the planning, design, administration and analysis of the annual performance management, merit, incentive and equity processes. * Coordinates annual salary survey submission process submitting Lincoln data to all relevant surveys and managing relationships with survey vendors. * Designs and/or revises the various compensation processes to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs. * Conducts a variety of modeling and analysis to evaluate existing and proposed compensation programs. * Ensures compensation programs are compliant with internal policies and external regulations. * Performs monthly/quarterly forecasting to develop incentive accrual requirements.
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * 4 Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) * Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other professional certification in compensation is preferred. **Experience** * 3 - 5+ Years compensation or related experience that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position * Knowledge of compensation administration and program execution. * Demonstrates strong analytical and modeling skills. * Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches. * Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements. * Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail. * Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style. * Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information. * Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. * Experience with enterprise level human resource management systems (HRTMS) such as Ultima, PeopleSoft, Authoria, Oracle, Lawson, Success Factors, or SAP preferred. * Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines. * Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
