Summary
The Digital Content Developer is an integral member of the Communication Team focusing primarily on content development for Assurant's online presence on both social media and website platforms. Further responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
**Social Media/Digital Communications** * Collaborates with external communication team to deliver a successful online communication in support of channel strategy. * Works to strengthen Assurant’s social media presence and general audience awareness, driving customer engagement and traffic to company website. * Thinks creatively and develops innovative strategies to increase page views and engagement across web and social platforms. * Develops engaging, entertaining, educational content and highly shareable content for Assurant’s corporate social media platforms and the corporate website, Assurant.com, including, but not limited to newsroom articles, blogs, tweets, images and short format videos. * Ensures content is optimized for search and user experience in all channels. * Implements on-brand campaigns for Assurant’s corporate social media platforms. * Monitors online conversations via the enterprise social media management system. Works with colleagues across the enterprise to triage customer complaints coming through social media platforms. * Develops quarterly measurement reports; report out quarterly on results. * Edits and updates website pages using content management system. * Stays current with digital and subject matter trends, while analyzing traffic reports to create strategy briefs based on metrics. * Coordinates strategies between content and other internal teams to develop fully integrated campaigns. **Miscellaneous** * Develop, proof and copy edit news releases or other communications documents. * Oversee awards and recognition program, maintaining a schedule and drafting submissions. * Maintain, update and monitor Contact Us mailbox. * Contribute both individually and as a team member to overall external communication plan and in support of colleagues across the enterprise. * Perform other communications duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism * Minimum of 5 years work experience in journalism, communication or related field at a Public Relations Agency or for a corporation **Other Requirements** * Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Ability to use Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media channels regularly to learn, share and influence others **Preferred Qualifications** * Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills * Experience in media relations (contacting and pitching media outlets) * Experience creating content for social media platforms and the web * Strong SEO skills * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines * Demonstrates respect, honesty, consistency, confidentiality and fairness when interacting with colleagues, clients, business partners and other stakeholders * Professional standards of attendance and office conduct
