The company became famous for its bleu cheese dressing and, as a result, expanded into the retail market with a multitude of dressings and sauces, veggie and fruit dips, caramel dip, instantly fresh herbs, cheese, apple cider and more.
Summary
The Marketing Communications Intern will work to develop their marketing communications skills by assisting the communications and brand teams and help develop the strategy and manage marketing activity for Litehouse.
Responsibilities
**Guiding Principles-Culture- Service:** * Responsible for driving the Litehouse culture through company guiding principles * Accountable for outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers * Develop and maintain effective relationships through collaboration and consistent timely communication * Help uphold a “Team Member” environment supporting others with positive behavior * Ensure compliance with food safety and quality guidelines **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** * Develop and expand understanding of communications, public relations, and marketing * Build media lists and develop media outreach skills and understand how to operate and what interests them with regard to content * Execute at least one pitch from start to finish and present results to the marketing team * Assist the Marketing and Communications Team to build the Litehouse brand * Work with the Marketing and Communications team to execute consumer and trade media outreach * Collect content for marketing and press materials (releases, briefs, backgrounders, fact sheets, pitch letters, biographies, and web content) * Monitor media and online conversations regularly around the Litehouse brand * Assist with social marketing efforts * Maintain corporate site content by working with internal content creators * Support the Litehouse internal marketing department * Participate and add creative input to department brainstorms * Participate in consumer/trade events that require public relations support. * Draft articles for the internal newsletter * Follow food safety and quality guidelines at all times * Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications Required to Perform Work:** Working towards a degree in Marketing / Communications / PR or the equivalent from a four-year college. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** * Strong MS Office Suite knowledge (Excel, Word, Power Point) * Read, comprehend and write basic correspondence. * Partner and resolve issues with internal and external customers. * Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. * Proficient decision making and judgment skills * Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently * One year or less of social media writing experience * One year or less of experience writing for other types of media * One to three years of customer service experience **Physical Demands/Work Environment:** * Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. * Occasionally required to stand and walk; lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * Rarely required to lift/move/push/pull up to 55 lbs with assistance. * Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Compensation and Working Conditions
Hourly Pay $10 and up
Reports to Director, Marketing & Communications
