Summary
Opens accounts, explains and processes investments and other financial services, and corrects records by performing the following duties. Any individual who meets the definition of a mortgage loan originator and is employed by a federal agency-regulated institution will need to be registered on NMLS.
Responsibilities
* Interviews members to obtain information and explains available financial services such as savings and checking accounts, Individual Retirement Account, Certificates of Deposit, mortgages, and business banking products. * Types account information obtained from member on record card or form, and enters into computer. * Answers member questions and investigates and corrects errors, following member and establishment records. * Presents funds received from member to Teller for deposit, and obtains receipt for member. * Helps member complete loan application when applicable. * Obtains credit records from credit reporting agency when applicable. * Executes wire transfers of funds. * Maintains a thorough knowledge of all types of accounts, rates, and services offered by the Credit Union. Explains, promotes, or sells other credit union products or services. * Explains the Credit Union, services, rates, and insurance to members. * Assists Marketing with membership/product drives. * May assist on the teller line during peak periods or absences.

Previous teller experience preferred. **Language Skills** * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization. **Mathematical Skills** * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. **Reasoning Ability** * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. **Computer Skills** * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software. **Physical Demands** * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
