The Maintenance Technician performs work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep manufacturing machines, mechanical/electrical systems and facility/utility equipment in functional operation. Duties will involve preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance in a fast paced demanding food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Promotes and practices safety and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times without compromise.
- Uses tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring and alignment instruments and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance activities to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, utility systems operate efficiently and maximizes equipment up-time.
- Inspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems to s mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Repairs electrical control and power wiring, electrical or electronic components such as proximity, photo eye, pushbutton and limit switches.
- Familiar with Variable Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, Remote I/O, DC Speed Controllers, AC/DC Motors and Motor Controls.
- Knowledge of mechanical power transfer systems such as gear reducers, chain/belt drives, direct drives, bearings, shafts and couplings.
- Knowledge of 480 volt 3 phase power distribution such as transformers, Motor Control Centers, power panels.
- Basic knowledge of 120 and 24 volt discrete control and 4-20mA analog control systems.
- Knowledge and experience with pneumatic operated control valve actuators and solenoid devices.
- Documents all work performed, hours, parts and follow up work on maintenance work orders.
- Experienced with packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes. Basic knowledge of utility systems such as compressors, boilers, chillers and water systems.
- Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must possess visual acuity to document company records
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft applications and CMMS experience
- Must have prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
- Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
- Must have strong critical thinking and technical troubleshooting abilities
- High sense of urgency and customer support
- Deep self motivation and pride of craftsmanship, challenges the status quo
- Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing
- Must have good job performance and attendance records
