Maintenance Mechanic

* Perform preventive maintenance. * Educate and train operators and junior maintenance personnel in trouble shooting and repair. * Develops skill sets of Packaging and Processing Operators through hands on training program. * Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. * Trouble shoots equipment in a timely manner. * Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. * Maintains equipment to maximize uptime and efficiencies. * Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. * Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. * Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. * Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. * Starts devices to test their performance. * Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. * Responsible for sanitation and safety of work area and maintenance of equipment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Food Safety Initiative Standards

* High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) AND 2 or more years of related maintenance or package machinery experience OR equivalent combination of advanced education and experience. * Maintenance experience in consumer goods and food and beverage industry is a plus. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications * Knowledge of SAP a plus * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear and regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs. independently. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment from production machinery is usually very loud.
