Summary
The Content Marketing Manager - Boston, MA will report to the Associate Director of Content and will execute on Year Up’s content marketing strategy by managing content creation and updates. Working with internal clients and external contractors, the Content Marketing Manager will manage multiple content creation and update projects and will directly manage National social media accounts. To be successful in this role you’ll characterize yourself as a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, growing organization. You have a powerful understanding of messaging, a sharp eye for editing and compelling design, and keen writing and communication skills. You adjust your communication methods to your audience, and you’re not afraid to shake things up. You pride yourself on your organizational skills and your ability to manage up, down, and across to move projects forward and get things done. Strong candidates will also bring a passion for meaningful work and social justice, and will be excited and prepared to engage with Year Up’s mission and constituents. The Content Marketing Manager - Boston, MA will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.
Responsibilities
**Content Creation** * Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop content that will engage, inspire, and drive our stakeholders to action * Manage content creation across all channels and mediums, including print, digital, email, mobile, and social media * Develop strong creative briefs that inspire our designers and stakeholders and accurately and succinctly capture the purpose, audience, message, and feel of new creative * Work with freelancers and contractors to develop content * Support development of social media calendar and execute posts * Develop email and marketing campaigns * Engage with colleagues across locations to gather and refine local content * Engage with corporate partners, community groups, college partners, and media outlets to collaborate on developing new content **Content Management** * Manage updates to existing marketing collateral throughout the year * Execute strategies for repurposing and refreshing content across communication channels **National Team Member** * Serve as a mentor/tutor for a small number of current students, availability permitting * Participate in staff meetings and trainings
Ideal Candidate
* 2-3+ years’ marketing/communications experience, preferably with a focus on content creation * Strong written and verbal communication skills; copywriting experience a plus * Ability to shift communication style to target a variety of stakeholders * Ability to translate brand guidelines and elements across various types of content * Creative mindset with an eye for visual design * Passion for thinking up new ways to reach and engage your audience—ideas big and small * Ability to seek out and absorb lots of information, and identify simple and powerful key messages * High attention to detail, especially in copyediting * Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders * Ability to manage many competing priorities and communicate effectively when priorities shift * Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team * Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, and Microsoft Office a plus * A passion for working with urban young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up * Understanding of the Opportunity Divide and its drivers * Commitment to diversity and inclusion

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with education and experience Benefits: Competitive package including 100% healthcare coverage, dental, and 401(k) Vacation: Three weeks paid vacation in first year of employment; four weeks after initial year
