Summary
The Comp & Benefits Representative will act as the focal point for both compensation and benefits administration. This will include regular on-going administration such as leave of absence, HR Online responses, and compensation administration such as survey administrator, governance audits (ie. FLSA), and data validation. It will also include ad-hoc administrative requests from both groups as needed.
Responsibilities
* Administer TransUnion short term disability plan and leave of absence plans (FMLA, Parental Leave, Military, etc.) by receiving email notifications and approvals from our third party medical company and preparing 'approval' letter for associate and manager. Understand the different types of leaves and the appropriate template letters to use in each scenario * Answer and reply as needed to all incoming emails from associates, managers and HR to benefits email box regarding short term disability and leave of absence. * Coordinate with payroll and timekeepers the payments for short term disability for associates as needed. * Serve as liaison between associate, manager, third party administrator and payroll as questions arise. * Answer incoming emails to general HR inbox daily throughout the day with response times within 24 hours. Responses may require research with vendors and HR staff. Volume of emails will fluctuate at different points in the year. * Assist with immigration/visa processes as needed. * Assist with other benefits admin and projects as needed. Including for wellness program, mass mailings, annual enrollment, etc. * Participates in survey submissions for annual and ad hoc salary surveys and compiles data from published sources. * Act as the primary focal point for compensation plan administration. Compensation system technical administrator – programs such as Mercer eIPE, PayFactors, and Fusion. * Update form design as seen in dynamic job descriptor, salary ranges, and SOPs. * Generate letters (through mail merge, excel, access, or system). * Stock plan administrator * Provides support to special compensation projects
Ideal Candidate
* Requires a Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, related field or equivalent experience. Prior work experience preferably in a human resources highly desirable. * 1-2 years of experience in Compensation, HRIS, Benefits, or general HR a plus. Demonstrates a sound knowledge of benefits and/or compensation systems, processes and procedures and the ability to multi-task and make recommendations. * Exceptional customer service skills required both in verbal and written communication * Ability to multitask many duties at same time and prioritize as needed based on deadlines, impact and urgency * Working knowledge of compensation and benefit concepts, laws, compliance and regulations. * Basic analytical/numerical skills * Must be proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. HR systems experience preferred * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with managers, employees, HR team, as well as external constituents such as vendors. * Experience working with data recommended.
