About TNTP
TNTP is a national nonprofit founded by teachers that believes our nation’s public schools can offer all children an excellent education. Today we’re a diverse team from a wide range of fields, united by a fierce commitment to helping school systems end educational inequality and achieve their goals for students.
Summary
The Grants Manager is critical to ensuring effective execution of TNTP’s philanthropic strategy by helping to guarantee that we effectively communicate progress toward organizational and grant goals, meet grant requirements, and maintain a high level of funder satisfaction. As an integral member of the Fundraising team, the Grants Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Partner for Development and internal clients to support general operations and project specific philanthropic needs. The Grants Manager will report directly to TNTP’s Partner for Development.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and further develop TNTP’s funder management systems and processes. * Forecast and manage grant reporting processes, timelines, and information-gathering efforts by working closely with internal staff. * Provide research on current and prospective funders. * Provide general writing, editing and other communications support, as necessary. * Write, edit and coordinate timely submission of grant proposals, including supplementary materials. * Coordinate with and support local TNTP project sites on fundraising and donor relations.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for amazing people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences, are inspired by our mission and are highly motivated to change children’s lives through education. You’ll be right at home here if you learn from failure and overcome adversity, cultivate strong relationships, and push yourself, your work and the people around you to the next level (a sense of humor and passion for good food are welcome too). Working as a member of the Fundraising team, and in close coordination with our internal clients, we expect our Grants Manager to: * **Plan and execute smooth operations.** Your planning, attention to detail and laser focus on deadlines will be the backbone of an efficient and productive team and strong funder relationships. Ambiguity doesn’t scare you; just the opposite, it excites you. Your creative instincts will help you deal with vague situations and develop new approaches with limited guidance. * **Embrace a fast-moving organization.** Changing priorities and new projects motivate you and inspire you to rise to the occasion. **Qualifications:** * At least two years of grant writing/reporting experience (preferred) * Familiarity with education issues, research and policy (preferred) * Experience using SalesForce (preferred) * At least two years of experience working in a fast-paced organization and producing high quality written deliverables * Strong attention to detail and deadline driven * Excellent organizational and project management skills * The ability to learn quickly, adhere to tight deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively * Exceptional writing and oral communication skills The ability to identify challenges and actively/creatively work to find solutions and operationalize them * Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity * Strong word processing, page layout and basic graphic design skills (proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required) * The ability to work effectively both independently and with others at all levels of the organization, and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions * If applying for a flexible location, the desire and ability to work in a virtual environment * Bachelor’s degree required
