Responsibilities
- Portland Opera seeks qualified candidates for this senior management level position. Reporting directly to General Director Christopher Mattaliano, the DMSC develops, plans and directs all subscription and single ticket campaigns, advertising, promotions, special events, public relations, communications, and group and corporate marketing initiatives for opera mainstage productions as well as special events and outreach programs. The Marketing and Sales team works closely with all company departments, particularly Development and Production.
Ideal Candidate
- Serious candidates should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field, 10 years of experience in Marketing, Sales and/or Public Relations, and at least five years in a management position. - Excellent verbal and written communication, strategic planning, staff development, and relationship building skills are essential to the performance of position’s essential duties. - Helpful but not essential skills include a working knowledge of design and printing principles, Ticketmaster ticketing system, and database management principles.
