Responsibilities
Job Description Covance is recruiting for an Account Director for it's growing Market Access business unit. 1. Establish, maintain and build excellent business relationships with clients. Assess major client needs and challenges and provide strategic guidance. Recommend and implement CMA engagements that meet client's overall strategic objectives. 2. Identify and secure new business and new clients. Assist in growing new market niches and creating new services and line extensions. Work with Sales and Marketing, RSG consulting staff, and HEOR along with other senior staff to define new projects and programs, and market CMA services to existing and potential clients. Write and review major proposals to ensure that they effectively present the firm’s capabilities. 3. Work closely with operations staff to ensure effective program operation and service delivery. Manage programs for profitability in coordination with other groups to ensure that financial and operational targets are met and that evolving client needs are identified and addressed. 4. Recruit, direct, and evaluate program managers. Spearhead the evaluation process, ensure performance in key areas, and address personnel issues. Help them to gain personal commitment and professional skills needed to perform optimally and to sustain professional success. 5. Advise program managers and support their growth and development. Help them to gain the professional skills needed to serve clients successfully and to sustain professional success. Assess job performance and provide regular feedback. As appropriate, serve as a mentor to other senior staff and junior operations staff. 6. Work with program managers and other staff to oversee the development and implementation of project plans, staffing plans, and budgets. Ensure that recommendations meet client requirements. Review and approve major client deliverables. 7. Work with other senior RSG staff to ensure that the practice meets its financial and other targets. 8. Continue to grow reimbursement knowledge. Stay abreast of industry trends. Understand legal regulations that impact the business and funnel competitive intelligence to ITC leadership and Marketing and New business development, as appropriate. 9. Perform duties relevant to the InTeleCenter™ such as weighing in on operations and training. 10. Participate in the overall ITC strategic planning process. 11. Set and maintain a standard of personal behavior and business ethics that brings credit to the firm. 12. Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
Education/Qualifications: The Account Director will hold a Bachelor’s or graduate degree (preferred) in business, management, public health, or other relevant discipline from an outstanding program. Knowledge of reimbursement, biopharmaceutical industry, call center operations, and CMA business lines. Project management, including managing staff, budgets, timelines, scope of work, deliverable development. Strong client service, management, and communication skills. Exceptional written and oral communication skills and presentation skills. Very strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and management skills including negotiation skills and the ability to work independently as well as provide leadership in a team-based environment. Excellent judgement in managing client, project, or personnel issues. Must be able to manage multiple clients, projects, and staff. Experience: Has extensive experience at Covance, or in a very similar environment, managing client accounts and staff. Typically has 6 or more years’ related experience.
