Responsibilities
Our client located in Locust Valley, NY is seeking an Accounting Assistant with experience in Inventory, AP/AR, General Ledger, and Sales Tax to Provide Accounting & Administrative Support To Finance And Other Operating Departments. This is a temporary position with the opportunity to go perm.
Ideal Candidate
* Inventory Pricing & Valuation – Assist with monthly inventory valuation process for Food, Beverage, Trapshooting Ammunition, Front Desk Accessories and Centennial Books. Count Food Storeroom inventory, update prices and quantities in Excel valuation spreadsheets. * Cash Receipts - Receive check payments, record in Northstar Accounts Receivable module and scan deposit to bank. * Cash Receipts - Monitor member Website ACH Payments activity. Ensure that all member initiated ACH payments are subsequently received at bank. *Member Billing – Monitor Club events activity, verify proper recording in Northstar POS modules. * Member Billing - Respond to member billing inquiries. Initiate requests for billing adjustments to operating departments. *Member Billing – Process billing and related journal entries (where applicable) for miscellaneous charges including but not limited to Beach Guests, Towels, Cash Advances, Non Receivable Cash Receipts, Sports Group. * Member Billing - Process monthly member statements. Print and mail paper statements and initiate distribution of electronic statements (email). * Prepaid Expenses – Prepare analysis and journal entry to record monthly amortization of prepaid expense general ledger balances. * Analysis & Reporting – Prepare various anyzers, journal entries and reports for operations activity, including but not limited to Golf tournaments and rounds, F&B Banquets activity, Trapshooting rounds, Clubhouse Rooms Rentals. * Maximize use of Northstar club system software and Microsoft Office tools to automate operations and reporting processes.
