Responsibilities
This position leads key IT initiatives with full accountability for project success. Typical project leadership responsibilities include: * Coordinating activities with all stakeholders for business requirements, reference architectures, functional design documents, test plans, and transition plans. * Managing multiple projects focused on the delivery of solutions including policy administration system rollouts, upgrades, and sun-settings. * Managing infrastructure projects including hardware/software introductions, upgrades, and data migrations. * Developing detailed project plans and corresponding budgets. * Monitoring and reporting on project related expenses. * Managing the assignment and allocation of resources to support project activities. * Managing vendor resources assigned to projects. * Overseeing the progress of work including identifying and addressing project risks and issues. * Providing ongoing status reports to project stakeholders. * Performing and documenting thorough impact assessments for process and service improvements.
Ideal Candidate
Role Education and Experience Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field. * PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent preferred. * Minimum 8-10 years of technical IT project management experience * Ability to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; must be able to effectively communicate business concepts to technologists and technology concepts to business partners. * Minimum 3 years' experience coordinating and/supporting IT business processes; excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company with internal and external customers. * Scheduling and budget management experience. * Strong organizational, detail, analytical and time management skills. * Ability to maintain composure, exercise good judgment and act in a professional manner when challenged; ability to build and sustain positive and collaborative working relationships. * Advanced level skills in project management software. * Experience with property & casualty insurance. * Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). * Advanced customer service skills. Technical Competencies: * Business Assessment - Knowledge of activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities, benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications. * IT Project Control and Reporting - Knowledge of and experience with monitoring the vital signs of an IT project, and managing its progress and delivery schedule. * IT Project Management - Knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT projects. * IT Project Office/Administration - Knowledge of and experience with maintaining a central repository of project competencies, plans, reports and history to provide a knowledge center for project managers. * IT Project Planning and Organization - Knowledge of tools and techniques for planning, estimating, resourcing and scheduling IT projects. * IT Service Change Management - Knowledge of processes, practices and tools for effectively managing changes to the production or live services environment. * IT Service Management - Knowledge of processes, practices, disciplines and tools needed to ensure that IT services are provided as agreed between the customer and IT provider. * Workflow Analysis - Knowledge of activities, tasks, practices and tools associated with analysis of a variety of work processes and associated document and information flow.
