Summary
Develop, implement and maintain Synagro product line. Work closely with members of the sales, development, and operations teams to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals. Provide leadership to move product from composting facilities to customer base.
Responsibilities
**Key Success Factors:** * Sell compost and bio solids products manufactured by Synagro, with primary responsibility for product sales produced in Western Region facilities. * Work collaboratively with operations and product marketing team to manage inventory throughout the region and to optimize EBITDA through coordinated product movement and value added sales. **Essential Functions:** * Work safely, exhibit and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times * Promote and sell compost/soil amendments * Maintain, develop and improve customer relationships * Maintain detailed sales records * Manage long-cycle sales (1 year+) * Manage sales process from order to cash, including coordination of product movement and placement with customers * Collaboratively works with operations, technical services and the product marketing team to ensure fulfillment of customer expectations and regulatory compliance * Partner with leadership across the organization to ensure the best possible service and effective communications to customers. * Create effective sales and management presentations. * Prepare bids and/or written proposals for customers * Develop new business with prospective customers * Conduct market analyses and create/maintain accessible and organized knowledge base on markets of interest. * Analyze data and formulate conclusions to drive consideration for new business opportunities * Translate research conclusions into actionable business concepts and plans for broader review and discussion * Perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs * Strategic targeting of new businesses – development of reports on business/category/competition of interest and utilization of various research methods to identify and qualify sales leads * Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses. * Communicate and implement new initiatives within areas of influence * Attend industry association meetings and trade shows to promote Synagro products and good will * Travel as required within market and other assigned areas
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field. MBA preferred. Related work experience will be considered * 3-5 years of professional product sales and customer service experience with demonstrated success defining and launching excellent marketing programs * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, MS Outlook) * Job duties and responsibilities will require frequent work outside at all times of the year * Job will require heavy lifting at times.
