Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to participate in a training program for future development as an outside sales representative. This position will provide the Electrical Distribution Group with future bench strength as it relates to territory openings caused by a sales person’s promotion, retirement, etc. The main goal is to have the individual fully trained to assume an outside position within 12 to 24 months. Regular mentoring and supervision by the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) assigned to manage this trainee is required to speed their development.
Responsibilities
* Become very knowledgeable in the attributes of the Leviton product line and how they are used in various residential, commercial and industrial applications. Work directly with Product Marketing people in the various Business Units to learn their products. * Provide backup support to assist the sales force, reduce their administrative load, and assist them within the assigned regions * Fill in for a vacationing sales representatives * Serve as a focal point for providing support to the sales force as it relates to literature and sample needs for our distributors * Work with the Pricing Coordinators to understand our pricing request system, facilitate pricing quotes for jobs and stock, and expedite approvals as required for a particular salesman who may not be available due to conflicts * Travel periodically during the course of a given quarter working with the sales force or the RSM learning all aspects of our business relationship with distributors and end users * Assist in product training meetings with the sales force and RSM as required * Work with others in Finance, Distribution Marketing, Technology, National Accounts etc. as needed to insure they understand our business thoroughly * Work with Leviton Customer Service Department regarding potential problems we could be having with the distributor as it relates to pending new orders because of pricing or inaccurate order entry serving as the “go to person” from sales to the customer. * Serve as a Telemarketing Sales support with secondary distributors within the region where a regular call pattern by the local assigned Electrical Distribution Sales person is not required
Ideal Candidate
* Must have outstanding oral, written and verbal communication skills * Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Must be willing to relocate after completing the training program **Education & Experience:** * Individual should be a recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management or a technical field
