Summary
The Product Manager will lead a cross functional team on developing GE’s Underground mining product portfolio for hard rock mining. This will be done by leveraging the GE’s Mining Equipment portfolio, Propulsion System Technology as well as adjacent competencies from GE Transportation and GRC.
Responsibilities
* Perform market analysis to define target segments for growth opportunities * Develop value analysis for potential new products and new technologies such as LHDs and UG electric and hybrid LHDs * Identify target OEM and Mine customers and establishing relationships to sell new product concepts * Prepare executive presentations to communicate business growth strategies and tactical action plans * Work closely with engineering and the global research team to define technical concepts and prepare customer proposals * Structure new products to meet customer needs including technical CTQs, pricing and life cycle costs targets while meeting Mining business CM % targets * Create detailed marketing guide specifications for the product * Manage all aspects of successfully bringing products to market including defining target cost, market price, value stories, target markets / regions, program management, launch programs / customers, etc. * Develop tools to be used by the sales team and training the sales force to successfully market new products and offerings * Support Strategic annual Growth Playbook process as well as business development opportunities in the mining equipment space
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or related field * Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial role, such as sales or marketing of industrial products or equipment, having experience in developing sales plan / business objectives and devising strategies and executing tactics to meet or exceed plans **Desired Characteristics:** * Strong clear thinking and organization skills to lead cross functional teams to deliver new products that meet customer and market expectations * Experience in customer interface, including strong relationship building and negotiation skills * Proactive, driving personality, dedication to serving the customer * Master’s Degree in Business Administration * Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (GE Employees only) * Knowledge of GE Transportation headquarters and factory operations * Excellent interpersonal, communication, presenting and organizational skills * Sound business acumen and proven leadership skills * Proven track record of establishing a vision, strategy and executing business plans * Capable of making decisions facing limited or conflicting data * Demonstrated cross-functional influencing skills * Strong initiative and ability to take ownership * Mining industry knowledge and experience
