Summary
The Director of Sales will lead the team of territory sales representatives to meet sales targets, maximize profit from all segments of the market and grow the business. This role is critical in the development and implementation of the sales strategy, including identifying and securing strategic accounts and successfully managing and growing existing accounts. Distribution and be primarily responsible for developing, driving & supporting sales productivity, processes, systems, & methodology. This role provides a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and talented person to contribute to a winning team while also being involved in all aspects of AEE Solar’s growing business.
Responsibilities
* Manage the outside and inside sales teams in meeting sales objectives and goals. Plan, direct and implement sales programs for one or more of the company's product line; * Provides strong guidance and leaderships to “territory sales associates” * Develop, forecast and monitor budget. Maintain contact with key markets and customers, while maximizing potential volume; * Pursue opportunities for revenue growth in new channels with new partners and ensure continuous margin expansion for the business. * Is directly accountable for ensuring that company’s account receivables aging balance remains within acceptable levels. Understands that a sales is complete only when monies are collected and therefore responsibly determines with AR manager appropriate risk profile of every customer. * Engages with leadership colleagues in Operations, Finance, HR, Order Management, etc., to evaluate new business opportunities and strategies leading to business growth and lower operational costs. * Establish and manage sales targets to allow achievement of plan objectives in sales and profitability; * Support sales representatives with account strategies, removes obstacles within process(s); * Provides ongoing coaching and feedback, goal setting and performance management. Responsible for delivering a high performing sales team; Manages by metrics and holds his team accountable. * Manages employee development, hiring, training and conducts regular and thorough performance reviews; * Through data analysis and past experience, makes solid decisions on strategy and direction; * Build and execute a business plan to leverage our existing relationships to enter in the Dealer market segment; Develops strategies aimed at increasing penetration within each account and market. * Establishes and builds high level relationships with customers that have a potential for a very high volume of product purchase primarily based around PV modules. Leverage these high level relationships to close sales with the targeted customer base; * Develop and ensure execution of the brand promise in the market segment; * Interface effectively with other members of the organization to ensure execution of the customer requirements; Is a key contributor to the management team of AEE. * Maintain the vision of the AEE Solar brand and the Mainstream Energy group.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience in a sales management and/or sales operations related position. * 5 years +experience in Distribution Sales Management experience. * Ability to develop and execute a business plan. * Can work under pressure and has a proven track record of exceeding targets. Focusses on results and gets things done. * Ability to interact and build relationships with senior level executives. * Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences as well as a clear and effective writer. * A creative individual with the ability to think critically and to solve problems. * Can handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion. * Excellent judgment and judge of character. * Leads by example, hard worker. * Builds top performing teams * Self-starter who can work with high level of autonomy. * Flexibility and comfort with continual change is important. * Excellent organizational and self-management skills.
