Summary
SoFi originates thousands of student loans each year and is expanding into mortgage loans. SoFi's Mortgage Loan Officers comprise the front-line customer service team and are responsible for fielding inbound customer inquiries and processing loan applications for mortgage loans.
Responsibilities
* Respond to applicants' inbound inquiries via phone, Live Chat, and email regarding SoFi's products * Perform outbound outreach to applicants and work with the applicant to successfully move applications through the sales process to funding * Complete initial review of applications pursuant to current SOP and Credit policy including review of credit reports, calculating free cash flow, verifying initial decisions and communicating this to the applicant * Request and secure required documentation from applicants and various information databases * Verify identity, income and other loan documentation submitted by the applicant * Participate in outbound marketing campaigns * Perform audits to ensure data provided by applicants at submission is accurate and the requests meets SoFi's specifications pursuant to the SOPs * Manage correspondence * Deliver timely, accurate and actionable information to SoFi teams as appropriate * Improve upon and refine sales and customer service knowledge and techniques via ongoing training
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications and Requirements:** * Professional demeanor and strong work ethic with the ability to establish and build working relationships with SoFi applicants, guiding them from initiation to successful completion of the loan process * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Background or previous experience in financial services and sales in an inbound call center * Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with team members * Must be computer literate with above average proficiency in MS Office and internet skills * Ability to learn and navigate multiple database programs * Ability to exhibit grace under pressure, while successfully navigating stressful work assignments or situations efficiently and effectively * Ability to meet critical deadlines under stressful conditions * Self-motivated and able to work independently * Able to move between projects and duties quickly and efficiently * Excellent organizational skills * Excellent prioritization and time management skills **Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** * Three to five (3-5) years originating residential mortgage loans * Experience with Calyx and Ellie Mae origination platforms * Inside financial and consultative sales skills, ideally in a mortgage sales organization * High volume transaction processing experience exhibiting the ability to follow written procedures and processes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail * Contract and loan administration experience * Project management experience definitely a plus **Education:** * BA degree desired * Three to five years' (3-5) work experience in a mortgage lending environment * Or, equivalent of education and work experience will be considered * Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), and have passed the Nationwide and California exams, with the willingness and ability to become licensed in additional states after employment starts, at the company's expense
