Summary
As a Inside Mortgage Specialist you are responsible for originating and processing mortgage loans for leads generated by Marine Credit Union. You must maintain a working knowledge of an array of products and services, including but not limited to Conventional Fixed Rate, FHA, VA and Rural Development.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for maintaining relationships with banks and credit unions for the purpose to drive more mortgage referrals from them * Partner with Marine Credit Union to originate mortgage loans that are eligible for sale in the Secondary Market in compliance with Consumer Loan Services policies and procedures as well as Federal and state rules and regulations. * Upon receiving the mortgage lead, contact the member in a timely manner and provide regular updates to ensure exceptional customer service. * Determine eligibility of the member to the mortgage programs that Consumer Loan Services currently offer. * Process and submit loan documentation obtained from the member to the Investor for loan approval. * Refer loans that are not Secondary Market qualified to Marine Credit Union partners.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of two years in mortgage lending, banking or sales experience. Preferred applicants will have knowledge of the mortgage loan application process. Experience with FHA, VA, Rural Development a plus. Qualified candidates will also possess the following: * Master knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and Rural Development underwriting guidelines. * Master knowledge of RESPA and TILA. * Experienced with DU/DO and other automated underwriting systems. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment. * Ability to work both independently and as a team player. * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal * High School Diploma or equivalent is required, advanced degree is preferred.
