Summary
The Sales Director's role is to execute direct sales and build relationships among professionals (such as lawyers, doctors and dentists) looking to provide financing to their clients. The Sales Director will be responsible for prospecting, uncovering and converting new business development opportunities. He or she must exude trust and confidence. Needs to be able to listen to and comprehend a prospects business needs while understanding complex network environments in order to successfully propose a solution. As the position evolves, the Sales Director’s job will also entail assembling a knowledgeable sales team reporting to him/her.
Responsibilities
* Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position, reputation and potential in the industry. * Sells financial services to professionals by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions. * Maintains relationships with professionals by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements. * Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors. * Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. * Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. * Meeting or exceeding quota * Create and execute a multi-faceted prospecting plan through cold calling, email, leveraging personal contacts, and following up on company generated leads. * Attends networking events, conferences and tradeshows to build relationships that will create new business opportunities. * Inputs and manage all sales opportunities through CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. * Participates in weekly sales meetings, which will include sales pipeline forecasting and management to ensure consistent performance each month. * Professionally represents the company to clients and provide excellent customer service.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 5 years' prior direct sales experience to the small or mid-sized business market or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience * A proven track record of consistently meeting and/or over-performing quota, as well as a proven ability to develop a new territory from scratch. * Previous selling in the financial sector is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization. * Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close * Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors * Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions * Some technical knowledge, including comprehension of complex network environments (hardware & software), and a strong aptitude for learning new technology is required. * Ability to communicate the company's' unique value proposition. * Ability to sustain a healthy sales pipeline, develop business plans, and collaborate with channel partners * Strong time management/organization skills * Self motivation and high energy with an ability to adapt to a changing environment * Able to work independently as well as within a team * Must have valid driver's license and ability to travel. **Skills & Abilities** * BA/BS degree or equivalent * Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Emphasizing Excellence, Energy Level, Negotiation, Prospecting Skills, Meeting Sales Goals, Creativity, Sales Planning, Independence, Motivation for Sales **Computer Skills** * Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft tools a must, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and CRM)
