Summary
This role will lead and manage the SendGrid business development function, responsible for driving the strategy, operations and revenue growth of SendGrid’s strategic partnerships and alliances channel and leading the assessment and implementation of new strategic business development opportunities that support long-term growth (such as international expansion or joint ventures).
Responsibilities
* Live by and champion our cultural values of Happy, Hungry, Honest, and Humble * Lead and execute the SendGrid strategic partnerships and alliance strategy and operational plan * Identify, acquire and manage an expanding “network” of strategic reseller partners that resell our services to their customers and generate partner-attributed ARR * Build and manage a partner “marketplace” for SendGrid customers can “buy” partner tools and services and generate partner-attributed ARR * Deliver on planned partner-attributed ARR from the partner channel * Build, manage, lead and inspire a partner team composed of partner relationship managers, onboarding specialists and cross-functional partners from product and engineering * Negotiate favorable contracts and agreements with partners * Effectively report on progress and value to senior leaders and beyond * Travel frequently to partner locations for business reviews and sales process * Manage the partner operating budget according to plan * Represent the SendGrid values appropriately * We're an agile, fast growing company and this job description isn't meant to be a complete list of your qualifications or all of the things you'll do
Ideal Candidate
* Typically, 15+ years experience in a business development, partnerships or channel management role * 5+ years of experience and successful track record of owning and driving a “partner-attributed” revenue target * 5+ years of experience in planning and executing a comprehensive technology-based partnership and alliance strategy and operational plan * 3+ years of experience in building and operating a technology platform partner “marketplace” of tools and services that are sold to the platform’s customers * 3+ years experience in planning and executing partner-driven global expansion strategies. * A passion for driving growth through partners by creating win-win strategies * Personable, outgoing and partner-oriented – enjoy interacting with others in professional and social settings * Excellent communicator – Via the written and spoken word. Comfortable speaking one-on-one and in front of large groups * Independent, responsible and self-motivated, but part of a Team – You’ll work as a key member of SendGrid’s marketing and sales teams, collaborate with community development, engineering, product management and customer success to succeed * Willingness to travel - You should expect to be on the road multiple times per month * An internal drive to be more awesome every day
