Summary
Responsible for overall market management of the Structures Market, one of the three primary Market Segments for the Test business. Leads the cross functional market team to achieve goals for growth, profitability, quality, and market share, consistent with Test Division objectives and strategies.
Responsibilities
* Develops and executes market plans to reach overall segment growth and economic viability of offerings in line with the Test Strategy. Leads cross-functional teams as required to ensure implementation of market plan goals. 2. Ensures thorough understanding of market and manages the collection and dissemination of market and customer research and analysis. Leads efforts to identify and translate customer-defined Best Total Value. Assesses the markets served and competitive landscape. Makes recommendations regarding risks, returns and trade-offs between alternative investments and strategies based on market business analysis. 3. Identifies, validates, and verifies customer business processes related to testing and ensures understanding by team members. Identifies implications and opportunities of trends and significant market events. Manages team to capture near and long-term opportunity through product and non-product offerings. 4. Recommends participation in relevant symposiums and/or standards boards as a means to further growth. Evangelizes MTS offerings and capabilities in industry forums. Sets high-level direction for customer advisory groups and other high-touch customer engagement events. Partners with marketing communication to execute. 5. Provides direction to product management for product and service offering development. 6. Coordinates with Market Development in the identification and exploration of new applications and emerging markets. Defines potential targets or opportunities to achieve growth through partnerships or acquisitions. 7. Ensures input from each regional sales and marketing organization are captured and considered in market plans. Partners with sales leadership to develop and direct sales strategies into geographic regions, ensuring appropriate investment into product launches and market campaigns. 8. Continuously monitors and determines the need to adjust market segment coverage; adjusts resources and people to emerging priorities and demands of the market and business strategy. 9. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned employees. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet departmental needs, and implements plans to satisfy those requirements. 10. Provides input to annual operating budget and manages against that budget.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree, strong preference for an Engineering undergraduate degree. MBA preferred. * Minimum 10 years relevant sales and marketing experience. * Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or lead experience. * Thorough knowledge of market management, including research methodologies, product positioning and managing market mix. * Ability to interact with multiple levels of an organization, internal and external, from individual contributor to senior executive. * Ability to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders. * Ability to understand and articulate customer needs and complex business issues. * Knowledge of competitive assessment techniques. * Knowledge of the sales process. * Excellent written and communication skills. * Strong problem solving ability and analytical business skills.
