Summary
Merck and Co. seeks an Associate Director (manager) for Strategic Partnerships to join the Merck Manuals team. The individual will report to the Director of Publishing and cultivate and manage strategic partnerships to accelerate our web based traffic on Merckmanuals.com . This new leader will play a pivotal role in driving the continued growth of the Merck Manual user base globally and will have tremendous impact on the shape of our business.
Responsibilities
- Work with executive leads to evaluate, explore, and execute strategic partnership opportunities that drive user acquisition and content distribution and enhance the Merck.manuals.com mission. - Help evolve active relationships with Merck’s key partners to reinforce our leadership position in the market, proactively address business issues, and identify new ways to maximize value for both parties. - Identify and develop relationships with new partners. Maintain pipeline of new partnership opportunities. - Lead the negotiation of deal terms with partners. Identify, model and track success metrics for each deal. - Develop and execute partnership marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure expansion and value of key relationships.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications **Education:** - Minimum of BA/BS required **Required:** - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Strategic Partnership management and/or Business Development - A self-starter and thought-leader with a demonstrated ability to influence internal and external clients. - Excellent analytical, written and communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to senior executives at large, national partners. - Experience working with and negotiating contracts. Preferred Experience and Skills: - Exceptional interpersonal skills and business negotiation skills. - Experience identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships. Ideal candidate will be a natural business builder who will bring in new relationships and champion creative ideas to drive growth.
