Summary
Position will perform General Fund accounts payable functions and will assist the General Fund Supervisor with clerical functions and other assigned general accounting duties. Regular attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
Responsibilities
* Perform functions related to General; Fund accounts payable including, but not limited to, the following: * Secure proper approvals that support each check. * Code all vendor invoices, vouchers, claims & check requests for payment. * Enter, edit and update invoices, vouchers, claims & check requests into the accounting system. * Process checks and batch with supporting documentation. * Obtain signature on check & mail payment * Scan checks and supporting documentation into Content Central and verify completeness. * Prepare schedules and provide selected copies of checks and supporting documentation to General Fund Supervisor as requested. * File all purchase orders in numerical order. * Update vendor files reviewing vendor list for duplications and delete duplicate/unused vendors in consultation with supervisor. * Run unpaid vendor list after last check run each month. * Reconcile accounts payable to ensure the unpaid invoice list matches the accounts payable detail each month. * Ensure proper coding for 1099 vendors and obtain a listing of payments to 1099 vendors annually. * Responsible for processing requests for funds to THQ on all property projects on a weekly basis. * Assist the General Fund Supervisor with the preparation of the Officer’s Tax Grants to include, but not limited to, accumulates and reports taxable mileage, officer’s allowance and miscellaneous earnings; scan and email tax information to officers, preparation of quarterly tax grant payments. * Assist in the disposal of dated material. * Other duties may be assigned. **Supervision Received:** - General Fund Supervisor **Supervision of Others:** - N/A
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of Associate’s degree in accounting or related field and one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & e-mail. * Position requires a confident, self-motivated, multi-tasked individual with integrity in the use of resources. * Demonstrate ability as a team-builder and able to maintain confidentiality. * Act in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army. * Must be a highly organized, detail-oriented (accuracy) self-starter able to meet deadlines. * Strong Communication skills are necessary. * Willingness to promote and work in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, vision and values, with particular regard to excellence of service. * Must pass all applicable background checks. **Physical Demands:** * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
