SRP delivers high-value electricity and water for the benefit of our customers, shareholders and the communities we serve. We are a community-based, nonprofit utility and one of the nation's largest public power utilities. SRP provides electricity to more than 1 million retail customers in a 2,900-square-mile service area that spans three Arizona counties, including most of the metropolitan Phoenix area (known as the Valley).
Summary
Business Systems Applications is recruiting a college student to work part-time Monday through Friday. Under the supervision of a co-worker/coach/mentor, the student intern will perform a wide variety of duties to gain exposure to, and experience in the department. Individual projects will be assigned to enhance learning and to assist in the day to day operations. Student Interns are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours per week but can work more hours depending upon school schedule.
Responsibilities
* Develop, upgrade, test, troubleshoot and install automated systems * Assist with technology research, and solution analysis * Work with a team of application developers to test fixes to existing production applications * Assist in creation of reports * Under supervision: create test case documents and perform test of application components * Under supervision: develop, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, and install applications * SharePoint site maintenance * Presentation development * Business documentation creation * Procedure writing
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * College level coursework (100+) will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management. **Additional Information** * Preference will be given to candidates with CIS/CSE/IT related majors. * Preferred requirements include familiarity with many of the following: * Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Outlook, Exchange * Internet Explorer, to include understanding configuration and properties * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience with SharePoint 2010 (preferred) * Managing client expectations and prioritizing work assignments * Assessing situations/problems and logically finding solutions * Being flexible and adaptable to change * A significant degree of independence accompanies the job, therefore reliability, initiative, and assertiveness are mandatory * Work hours are flexible, but the student must be dependable and conscientious to ensure service levels for customer satisfaction are met. * Assist with day-to-day activities as needed
