Summary
CACI is seeking an experienced VTC Engineer to support our DoD client in Suitland, MD. Using a wide range of knowledge, review, analyze, evaluate, design, engineer, install, maintain, and enforce related security and operational support services for all room/studio video teleconferencing suites within the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC), including tenant commands, and Chief of Naval Operations (Pentagon), which may operate on the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Information Services (JWICS), Video Information Exchange System (VIXS), Global Video Services (GVS), and UNCLASSIFIED domains. Provide design, engineering, and support for installation and accreditation, activation, and remote troubleshooting assistance of room/studio and desktop VTC services residing on JWICS at Naval Intelligence forces ashore. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, secure, integrate, enhance, and optimize desktop and studio VTC capabilities within the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC), as well as Fleet Concentration Areas. Develop system and/or network diagrams and circuit history folders. - Provide “as-needed” support to the Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) site(s) to include the designing, engineering, installing, maintaining, and upgrading of VTC equipment. - Protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. - Provide operation and maintenance of VTC hardware (and peripheral devices) including, but not limited to, digital/analog video cameras, camera control units (CCU), digital/analog audio mixers, digital/analog matrix switchers, microphones, video monitors, Cisco/Tandberg codecs, Multipoint Control Units (MCU), Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) software, Video Communications Server (VCS), fiber optic media converters, Cisco gatekeepers/switchers/routers, encryption devices (e.g. KIV-7), AMX/Crestron control systems. - Provide user familiarization and tactical troubleshooting training materials and deliver training to personnel as required. - Maintain SharePoint-accessible master history of all hardware and software associated with room/studio VTC and DVTC systems that are used to support fleet forces ashore. - Plan and recommend VTC technology/equipment refresh. - Monitor Remedy trouble ticketing system to address new hardware, break/fix and modification requests on the NMIC compound as well as several affiliate commands in the DC Metro Area (travel may be required). - Ensures that all software including network control programs satisfy the security and communications needs covering both the hardware and software installed. - Develops or assists in the development of standards for carrier service and equipment. - Prepares or ensures that appropriate telecommunication documentation exists, including operational instructions. - Assists and/or leads in service / system upgrades while being a team player involving other departments. - Provides hands-on assistance involving troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, equipment failures or service issues. - Research and recommends available and emerging VTC (telepresence) technologies to recommend future implementations. - Works closely with network administrators on communication and connectivity projects and maintenance. - Uses knowledge of current systems to promote beneficial capabilities and leverage use of the system's features.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications:** - Active TS/SCI clearance - Security+ Certification or equivalent - Minimum of five years of related experience - Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technology - Formal Cisco training related to video teleconferencing technology - Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) - Able to communicate clearly and effectively in a one-on-one or group setting - Highest levels of customer service and professionalism are expected - Understand military rank structure **Physical Demands:** - Able to lift 35-50lbs - Ability to wall-mount 55-60 inch flat screen monitors - Able to crawl, climb (e.g. ladder) and stand for extended periods of time - Ability to work on computer (remain seated) for long periods **Desired Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree preferred - Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) is a plus
