Summary
Engineer and implement all client technologies. Maintain, administer and support the VWR desktop environments and client management suites. Engineer all VWR desktop applications in LanDesk. Creating and maintain the corporate desktop images. Provide Level 3 for all Production Support that comes into Workstation Support from the Service Desk and Remote Sites via Remedy.
Responsibilities
* Provide second and third level wireless-mobile and desktop support for 3500 clients. * Responsibilities will be focused on day to day computer and mobile device support for all levels of the business. * Respond to the needs and questions of users concerning their computer, wireless and remote needs. * Technical support involve, Laptops, PC’s, Xen Desktops, Wireless devices, Cell Phones, Wireless Cards, iPhone, iPads and any other Mobile devices using Multiple carriers. * Respond to incoming requests via phone, email, voice mail, and Intranet forms * Update open cases, resolve issues, and contact customers for case follow up * Attend meetings and training sessions when requested.
Ideal Candidate
**Experience & Skills:** * iPhone Support * Tablet Support * Cellular and wireless support. * General PC and application troubleshooting * Basic understanding of PCs, Operating Systems, networks, servers, and databases * Knowledge and experience with supporting a Lotus Notes environment * Knowledge and experience with supporting remote end users and remote connectivity requirements * Adequate business writing skills * Organization: necessary in order to manage open cases and follow up; acquired by experience and predisposition * Customer service: necessary to provide a quality customer experience and help customers through their computer problems; acquired by experience, world view, and predisposition * Communication: necessary to communicate effectively with customers and department/team members; acquired through formal education and experience * Prioritization: necessary to balance incoming incidents with follow up; acquired by experience and predisposition * Multi-tasking: necessary to manage a high workload by performing more than one task at a time; a acquired by experience and predisposition **Qualifications:** * Associate/Bachelor Degree in Information Systems preferred § 3-5 years’ experience in systems configuration management, maintenance, tuning and optimization. * Experience backing up personal data and recovering data from faulty hard drives * Comptia A+ or Comptia Network+ or MCP or CCNA * All Microsoft Windows operating systems related to the Desktop environment and Network Operating Systems and all versions of Microsoft Office * Desktop related peripherals, e.g. monitors, printers, scanners, handheld devices, modems, switches and hubs, etc. * Network related configuration of the Desktop PC, i.e., network adapters and TCP/IP addressing, IPX Network numbering, WINS and DNS File systems, e.g., FAT, FAT32, and NTFS * Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Active Directory, LanDesk, and messaging services. **Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:** * Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. * Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. * A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. * Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
