Summary
Phase One is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support the implementation of a technology product for the nation’s Army and Air National Guard. The IT PM will provide program and project management, client coordination, and subject matter expertise. The IT PM will be involved in the full project life cycle, assisting in development of implementation project plans, managing Phase One and client team resources, conduct project kickoff meetings, manage implementation tasks, identify risks and manage issues to their successful resolution.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain contact with project sponsors, executive decision makers and other stakeholders * Serve as technical and/or functional focal point of contact with the client on contract PM activities * Define project scope, objectives and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) * Ensure effective customer interaction and communications regarding program and task activities * Monitor team performance, schedules, quality of all work and ensure timely product implementation * Coordinate and prepare for project meetings throughout the development lifecycle * Clearly document and present findings including creation of diagrams and procedure documentation * Provide effective management of assigned resources, including third-party contractors * Effectively communicate project status, issues and risks * Continuously track project schedule performance, identify variances weekly and develop recommendations to address significant schedule or cost variances * Professionally interface with internal and external customers as well as top management throughout project * Manage multiple projects
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Science with at least five (5) years of experience relevant to solution implementation consulting * Demonstrated expertise managing a wide variety of technical and administrative projects, including directing technical staff, team members and contractors * Exceptional oral and written communication, organizational, critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions skills are essential * Expertise in documentation, presentation tools, and project management tools required * Strong consulting skills including the ability to : Ability to enter a client environment and provide business process change recommendations after a detailed assessment of the requirements and the current state * Proven experience building and maintaining trusting and value-added client relationships * Able to coordinate and facilitate stakeholder and subject matter expert interviews * Capable of working in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines * Ability to travel throughout the continental United States
