Summary
Develops and supports global implementation of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, to enable effective management of risks associated with the commercial (e.g. sales & marketing) business. Develops an EHS program that covers colleagues based in offices, mobile workers, peripatetic workers.
Responsibilities
• Supports the Safety Lead in advancing the safety strategy within the commercial business • Develops processes to enable assessment of EHS risk associated with commercial business operations • Development and maintenance of the Fleet and Office EHS Standards and supporting documented management systems • Contributes to key risk reduction initiatives, through program development, including: - Fleet Safety - Fire Life Safety - Ergonomics • Establishes and manages an EHS communications plan for the R&D and Commercial EHS team; to enable periodic briefings to key stakeholders on EHS performance and relevant risk topics • Supports the commercial organization in advancing hazard awareness and risk evaluation through provison of education and training materials • Maintains and coordinates forums with key stakeholders e.g. Global Operations EHS Regional Leads; Fleet Safety Operations team to advance risk management priorities • Promotes organizational learning through evaluation of root causation related to incident investigations, and driving actions to address key learnings • Participates in the internal EHS audit program as an audit team member
Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor’s degree in a business management, health & safety, public health or equivalent discipline required • Active membership in at least one relevant professional body, ideally with a formal continuous professional development requirement. ASSE CSP certification desirable • As a minimum 5 years postgraduate experience working within a complex, multi-national commercial operating environment; preferably with at least 2 years in an EHS role **Phisical/Mental Requirements:** Due to the nature of work assignments, candidates must be able to perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints. Position responsibilities require mobility including ability to sit, stand, to walk for extended periods of time; to climb stairs; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds. The job requirements will require manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment; ability to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with colleagues and others on the phone and in the office.
