Summary
The Vice President of Marketing & PR provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the marketing and public relations service line. Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, risk management, operational functions, strategic planning, and program development as well as maintaining 24 hour accountability. The Vice President performs delegated duties and functions within the philosophy and overall scope of responsibility. The Vice President displays positive support for the values and mission of Wesley Healthcare.
Responsibilities
* Develops and implements systems and hospital marketing plan based on strategic goals of the hospital; works with leaders and directors to create and implement marketing plans for various service lines * Monitors key marketing performance indicators and aligns strategies to improve those metrics. * Counsels personnel concerning performance, attitude, and interpersonal relationships. Addresses staff concerns in a professional and timely manner * Identifies and implements public relations and community activities supporting hospital goals; leads various Wesley teams in implementation of special events * Ensure alignment of Wesley Healthcare marketing strategies with those of the Continental Division and HCA. * Primary contact for any media request at Wesley; serves as medical center’s spokesperson, interfacing with local and national television, radio, magazines and newspapers for editorial coverage * Work with local and division vendors to develop creative content and purchase traditional and digital media * Supervises and advises volunteer board of Wesley Friends in all activities and projects * Supervises formulation of departmental operating and capital budgets * Continually seeks opportunities to build revenue base and decrease costs while maintaining quality * Selects sources of needed services not provided by the department or hospital * Assumes accountability for identifying problems and issues, generating solutions, and anticipating effects of decisions * Completes projects notifying supervisor regarding delays or complications in assigned projects * Manages stressful situations in a professional and appropriate manner * Leads, coaches, develops, and recognizes staff to maximize performance and growth * Continually assesses growth and development of staff to coach and mentor future leaders * Proactively communicates areas of potential public relations vulnerability to executive staff * Develops job descriptions and standards of performance for all staff
Ideal Candidate
* Current driver's license * Bachelor's degree * Five years of progressive public relations/marketing experience * Master's degree * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively * Demonstrated knowledge of marketing/public relations best practices * Managerial knowledge
