Summary
Reporting to the Director, Global Strategy & Market Development, the Assistant Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications plays a significant role in advising and contributing to the success of the entire division through integrated marketing strategies and implementation. The position is responsible preparing overall marketing strategy, aligning M&SA to meet market demand, and driving growth and sales strategies. The Assistant Director develops marketing strategy for both member acquisition and retention and other M&SA business units responsible for programs, products and services worldwide. S/He works to develop a detailed understanding of current or new market trends, best practices and new information to rapidly align M&SA to market. This position is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of integrated marketing communications and associated budgets and resources, including a complex management structure of full-time, part-time, and contract employees and numerous vendors.
Responsibilities
**Work design:** Demonstrates an expert knowledge of the organization and industry practices, methods and procedures. Directs multiple critical functions with significant impact across the organization. Ensures integration of the department within the division and the larger organization. Makes a significant contribution to integrate the work of the department across the organization in areas of expertise. Develops and manages short- and near-term strategies related to area. Develops procedures and policies. Decisions involve integrating diverse business objectives into a common organizational objective and managing complex and contradictory alternatives requiring organizational support. Work involves managing a department or large, highly visible work across the organization. **Position Accountabilities** - Lead integrated marketing strategies to facilitate global growth and support sales and business strategies. - Leverage market intelligence and customer insights to drive strategy. - Identify and build required centralized marketing capabilities; establish the systems, processes, and measurement criteria needed for success. - Work hand in hand with the other members of the GSMD management team to set departmental direction and formulate strategies to help us reach our revenue and customer satisfaction goals. - Increase awareness of the organization to drive and support strong sales growth; ensure alignment with Sales and Product Development to achieve company and divisional objectives. - Lead brand strategy and evolution of current and emerging brands; own brand positioning and management. - Oversee and direct the efforts of a centralized marketing team to include events marketing, lead generation, brand strategy and integrated marketing communications. - Build and inspire a high functioning, innovative, and driven team to exceed company objectives. - Create, implement and evolve integrated solutions for CRM, Mobile, Social Media and Loyalty programs. - Work with business partners to define and report on metrics that represent progress against organizational and divisional goals and show Marketing’s impact on business and traffic. - Directs external agency partners and consultants, ensuring that those capabilities deliver the most effective, efficient and market-informed approach to supporting marketing efforts. - Manages multiple budgets, including responsibility for determining how budgets and resources get allocated across multiple business units and projects.
Ideal Candidate
- Advance degree, or equivalent experience, in Business or Marketing would be ideal. - A minimum of 10 years of experience with expertise in integrated marketing communications. - A strong respect for branding and a demonstrated ability to cultivate and develop brand positioning. - Ability to implement systems and organizational structure that will allow department to grow while maintaining consistency across the team. - Demonstrated success collaborating and driving outcomes across cross-functional teams to deliver increased value, effectively leading executive level collaboration, and developing various internal and external partners. - Qualitative and quantitative skills to support sound decision-making.
