Summary

As our Development Director, you will assist in playing a key role in the continued growth and expansion plans of the company. You will be the one who takes projects from concept to the point where they are ready to go into the design or entitlement phase. Projects currently are located in suburban Maryland and Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the project leader for real estate projects that the company seeks to develop. * Manage the process from concept, site control, land contract, or government agreement until the company is ready to move into the design or entitlement stage for the property. * Develop and present plans of action for moving projects through this continuum. * Successful implementation of this plan of action. * Participate as a key member of the team in producing creative development approaches that maximize value for development sites. * Work with other NDC employees, outside financial consultants, lenders, equity providers, etc. to arrange for construction financing for projects. * Work with government officials, community groups, and other similar stakeholders to achieve support for the projects. * Meaningful community outreach and availability for evening meetings isrequired. * Work with NDC internal Finance Director and 3rd Party Financial partners and intermediaries to support project financing efforts. * Work with 3rd Party consultants to arrange for public funding financial assistance for projects where such assistance is required. * Work with senior leaders to create strategies for developing sites.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate or related field; MBA or Master’s degree in real estate highly preferred. * At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role on real estate development projects in roles such deal creation, entitlements and financing. * Strong communication and coalition building skills. * Strong analytical and financial management skills. * Working knowledge of government development processes and public financing process highly preferred. * Creative ability to maximize value with new development sites. * Proficient in Excel and related software packages. * Highly-developed verbal and written skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Creative problem solver and detail oriented.
