Summary
As an Assistant Product Manager, you will primarily be responsible for driving the success of our product lines as measured by top and bottom line performances. This will be accomplished through the marketing and underwriting of business in the Passenger Transportation Department. You will hold responsibility for multiple aspects of the product, including Underwriting, Sales, Systems and Infrastructure, Policy Issuance, Rating, Compliance, Loss Control, Budgeting and Personnel Management.
Responsibilities
* Achieve premium and profitability goals for the Calypso Product * Manage direct expenses within the department’s expense budget * Communicate and coordinate activities and tasks with the affected departments and ensure that all aspects of assigned products are properly managed * Review and monitor coverage limits, deductibles, endorsements offered and reinsurance retentions of NIIC, reinsurance partners, & program partners * Maintain compliance on an account-by-account and program-wide basis including filings, statutory reporting, and agency licensing * Establish & apply pricing methodology based on bureau, modified bureau, proprietary model, or some combination thereof * Assist in managing the “hot claims” process, and coordinate claim review meetings * Prepare source documents and other policy processing documents that aid in the customer service function within the policy issuance timeliness standards, including policy output review and endorsement processing * Monitor accounting responsibilities – treaty reinsurance, premium collections, investment strategy, and captive accounting if applicable * Prepare routine reports and correspondence for both internal and external parties * Execute all other duties and special projects assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university highly preferred * Graduate degree, CPA, CPCU, or other designation a plus * Minimum of 2 years property/casualty experience * Solid foundation of underwriting, marketing and finance * Ability to think critically and analyze correspondences, reports, findings and data of a complex nature for dissection/presentation * Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication talent is essential * A thorough proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including proficiency working with spreadsheets, internet, and online services * Willingness to travel, including some overnight stays, is required for this role
